RSD/CRPS diagnosis results in damages verdict of $1,173,000 verdict.
The defense doctor questioned whether plaintiff actually had RSD/CRPS. This diagnosis is a rare disorder which brings upon sudden and excruciating pain. There are no objective ways to determine if someone actually has RSD/CRPS. Glenn Auletta successfully argued plaintiff’s injuries to a Nassau County jury, which is known to be ultra-conservative. The defense offered $100,000 which was actually being considered by plaintiff. When the jury returned the verdict of close to $1.2M, defendant’s carrier was forced to pay $600,000 more than their insurance policy.
