How Do Contingency Fees Work?
When you hire an attorney who works on a contingency fee basis, you won’t pay any legal fees until and unless they win your case and secure compensation on your behalf in the form of a settlement or verdict. If your lawyer is successful, their payment will come out of your compensation package, and it is usually around 30 percent of the total amount you receive in your case.
